Why should I choose to stay at StayWell for my post surgical recovery?

StayWell is an aftercare facility that combines the best of a Five Star Hotel with the advantages of 24 hour professional nursing care.  Professional patient recovery is the main difference between a relaxed, complications-free post-surgical experience and one that leaves the patient feeling frustrated and stressed.  StayWell has resources and a professional nursing staff not available in home-based or hotel aftercare.  Scheduling your stay at StayWell is an effective way of ensuring your safety and peace of mind.

What kind of nursing care will I receive?

At StayWell we provide the best post surgical treatment available with 24 hour RN, LVN and certified nursing assistants who are specifically trained in   post – operative recovery care and are familiar with your physicians protocols for treatment, medication and restrictions.  We work closely with your doctor to provide an individualized care plan to make sure you receive the best results possible.  Before leaving StayWell, your nurse will review with you all your medications and post-op care instructions which are to be followed as you continue your recovery at home.

What is included in the price?

The room rate includes 24 hour nursing care, basic medical and treatment supplies. It also includes a full menu of your choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all our outstanding In Room Amenities which you can get more detail about under the Rooms and Rates tab.

What items should I bring with me?

StayWell will provide you with everything that you may need during your stay with us (patient gown, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc). Most patients bring a small overnight bag with comfortable clothing and personal toiletries that are appropriate for post surgical recovery.

Please bring any medications or prescriptions that your doctor ordered for you prior to your surgery. Please leave medications in their original bottles. If you take any medications for any pre-existing condition, please discuss this with you doctor prior to surgery. If you are to continue taking these medications during your stay at StayWell, please bring these as well.

Can friends and family visit me during my stay?

Visiting hours are between 9am and 9pm. We generally recommend that patients wait until the day after surgery before having friends or family visit. Nursing staff may request that visitors limit their time if it is in the best interest of the client’s care. Small children are discouraged from visiting. Pets are not allowed.

Can I have a guest stay with me?

We discourage guests from staying as it can be disruptive to your care and keep you from getting the rest and relaxation that you need for recovery. However, in special circumstances and with prior approval from StayWell, a guest may be allowed to stay. A separate charge of $350 will apply.

Can you accommodate my special dietary needs?

We strive to provide a bespoke experience for our clients and your dietary needs will be fully accommodated for.

Can I extend my reservation?

Some patients will find that they want to extend their stay at StayWell for an additional night or two. We always try to accommodate extended reservations, but first please check with your nurse or the Office Director regarding room availability.
